The Trade Licensing Unit regulates the following activities:
- Wholesale and retail trade
- Social and personal services
- Professional and business services
- Processing, manufacturing and sale of food products and beverages
- Manufacturing activities
- Construction services
The model form more important is the “Model C” that is: “Application for a new licence for a commercial activity which requires a MEPA permit under the Trading Licences Act (Cap.441 of 2002) and subsidiary legislation“.
The various sections of the form requires information about the applicant’s personal data or company, depending if it acts in the same name of the company or not; the authorization by the secretary of the society ‘to be represented by the applicant; the details about activity ‘trade (type, address, plan certified by an architect, accurate business category, month and year of initiation of the activity’, …).
