45 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Tuesday, the highest number since 67 cases were reported 10 days ago, but there were no new deaths from the virus.

The number of active cases dropped to 400, the lowest since September 11, as 67 more patients recovered.

The number of vaccine jabs increased to 318,706 with 102,535 being second doses, 

1,512 swab tests were made in the past 24 hours.

casi-1301-1There were 33 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. With 36 new recoveries, the number of

people currently infected with the virus stands at 519, the lowest since October 5.

 

Although the number of new cases has gone up since Tuesday's low of 13, it has been in double

digits every day since March 27.

 

No new deaths were recorded for the second day running, leaving the death toll at 411.

The new cases were found from 2,129 swab tests, meaning a positivity rate of 1.55%

15 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded between Sunday and Monday, and there were no

deaths from the virus, the health authorities said on Monday.

1,449 swab tests were made in the past 24 hours. 58 patients recovered, leaving 422 active

cases.

The number of vaccine doses rose to 313,279 of which 100,686 were second doses. 

The low numbers came as Malta reopened non-essential shops and services after a seven-week

shutdown. The Prime Minister said on Sunday that more restrictions will be eased on May 10,

including the partial reopening of restaurants and snack bars.

With 65 recoveries, the number of active cases is now 522, the lowest in recent days and equivalent to what it was on October 6. 

The number of new cases has been in double digits every day this month.

No new deaths were recorded, leaving the death toll at 411.
