58 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Wednesday, one less than on Tuesday. No new deaths were reported.

41 patients recovered leaving the number of active cases at 578.

2,001 swab tests were made in the past 24 hours.

47 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Monday, and no new deaths were reported for a second straight day.

The health authorities said 2,036 swab tests were made in the past 24 hours and 52 patients had recovered, leaving the number of active cases at 552.

The number of virus vaccinations rose

casi-1301-459 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Tuesday, along with the death of a 68-year-old woman who had tested positive for the virus. 

The health authorities said 50 patients had recovered leaving 561 active cases.

The number of vaccine jabs has risen to 249,400 of which 74,053 were second doses.

Malta has recorded 55 new COVID-19 cases and one more death, continuing a trend of double-digit infections.

There are now 554 active cases as 45 patients recovered overnight. 

A 76-year-old man died at Mater Dei Hospital while positive for the virus, bringing Malta's number of COVID-19 deaths
