Malta: limits on the maximum number of people hosted in private houses
The Ministry of Public Health adopted new measures limiting the permitted number of guests.
The said provisions contained in the N.L. 77/2021 were published as it follows.

Groups of Persons in Residential Properties Regulations, 2021
In exercise of the powers conferred by article 26 of thePublic Health Act, the Minister responsible for public health, afterconsultation with the Superintendent of Public Health, has made thefollowing regulations:
Title.
1.The title of these Regulations is the Groups of Persons inResidential Properties Regulations, 2021.
Prohibition of groups in residential properties.
2.Groups of persons who respectively between them live inmore than four (4) different residences shall not gather in a residentialproperty.
Offences and penalties.
3.Any person who fails to abide by the provisions of theseregulations shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, beliable to the payment of a penalty of one hundred euro (€100) for eachand every occasion on which these regulations are breached:Provided that if the offence is admitted and the penalty ispaid before proceedings are commenced in front of the Commissionerfor Justice, the applicable penalty shall be reduced to fifty euro (€50).
Date of remaining in force and transitory provision.
4.These regulations shall remain in force until 11 April 2021:Provided that these regulations, even after the 11 April 2021,shall remain in force for the purpose of any act, decision, action orproceedings taken in respect of any breach of the said regulations thatoccurred or were instituted under or by virtue of these regulations.
