The European Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC) survey 2022 revealed that the material and social deprivation rate stood at 9.6 per cent, whereas the severe material and social deprivation rate stood at 4.9 per cent.
In 2022, the General Government registered a deficit of €981.1 million, equivalent to 5.8 per cent of GDP. The General Government debt amounted to €9,003.4 million or 53.4 per cent of GDP.
In 2021, 3,295 persons experiencing domestic violence made use of services available within this area. Of these, 78.9 per cent were females.
In the fourth quarter of 2022, the General Government recorded a deficit of €323.9 million.
Price changes and effects on inflation
The highest annual inflation rates in March 2023 were registered in Housing (14.58 per cent) and Food (11.78 per cent).
During 2021, social protection outlay totalled €2,721.2 million, a 4.6 per cent increase from the previous year.
