Provisional figures show, that, during July 2023, registered trade in goods in Malta recorded a deficit of €410.7 million as opposed to a deficit of €817.3 million in the corresponding month of 2022.

The provisional estimates indicate that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the second quarter of 2023 amounted to 4.7 billion euros, registering an increase of 416.9 million euros, which is 9.7 percent, compared to the same quarter of 2022. In terms of volume, the GDP increased by 3.9 percent.
In April 2023, registered full-time employment increased by 8.2%, while part-time employment as a primary job increased by 3.8% when compared to April 2022.
Total outbound tourists for the second quarter in 2023 were estimated at 189,443, an increase of 35.4 per cent over the corresponding quarter of 2022. Total nights spent amounted to 1,252,385.
