The seasonally adjusted monthly unemployment rate for March 2024 stood at 3.2 per cent, at par with the previous month.

The unemployment rate for March 2024 stood at 3.2 per cent, at par with the previous month, and decreasing by 0.2 percentage points from March 2023.

During March 2024, the number of unemployed persons was 10,346, with the 25 to 74 age group being the major contributor to the overall level of unemployment. The seasonally adjusted number of unemployed youths amounted to 2,619, whereas the number of unemployed individuals aged between 25 and 74 years stood at 7,727

In March 2024, the unemployment rate for males stood at 3.3 per cent, increasing by 0.1 percentage points when compared to February 2024. Similarly, the female unemployment rate stood at 3.2 per cent, marking an increase of 0.1 percentage points from the preceding month.

The unemployment rate for persons aged 15 to 24 years (youth unemployment rate) decreased to 9.0 per cent, while the rate for those aged between 25 and 74 years stood at 2.7 per cent, increasing by 0.1 percentage points from February 2024.
