Malta: Unemployment Rate - July 2023
The monthly unemployment rate for July 2023 stood at 2.5%, in line with the previous month.
The unemployment rate for July 2023 stood at 2.5%, in line with the previous month and decreasing by 0.4% points compared to the same month last year.
During July 2023, the number of unemployed individuals was 7,610, with males and the age group of 25 to 74 contributing the most to the overall unemployment level. The number of unemployed youths amounted to 2,005, while the number of unemployed individuals aged between 25 and 74 was 5,605. For July 2023, the unemployment rate for males stood at 2.6%, increasing by 0.1% points compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, the rate for females was 2.4%, decreasing by 0.1% points compared to June 2023.
The unemployment rate for individuals aged 15 to 24 (youth unemployment rate) decreased to 8.1%, while the rate for those aged between 25 and 74 was 2.0%, increasing by 0.1% points from June 2023.
